BBQ Beef Casserole

This is a recipe Heidi gave me. It is really good. I have substituted leftover roast beef and pork roast for the ground meat with excellent results. Try it. This may become your catch all casserole.

BBQ Casserole
1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
1 16 ounce pork and beans (I use "Bush's baked beans)
1 Tablespoons minced onion
4 Tablespoon - 1/2 cups  BBQ sauce
4 teaspoons brown sugar
1 10-ounce can of biscuits
2 cups grated cheese

Brown meat and drain fat (or rinse the fat off if you are really worrying about fat). Add beans, onion, BBQ sauce and sugar. Bring to a boil and then turn down to a simmer. Simmer 15 minutes. Pour into a casserole dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until the biscuits are starting to look golden. Sprinkle with cheese and put back in the oven just until the cheese melts.

Note: Instead of using canned biscuits - mix together 2 cups of Bisquick, 2/3 cup milk and 1/2 cup shredded cheese.  Mix together well.  Drop onto the mixture in the casserole dish and bake about 20 minutes.  This makes this a quick go to dinner when you don't have canned biscuits in the house.
