Pumpkin Bread

1 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening or butter
2 eggs
1 2/3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/3 cup water
1 cup canned pumpkin
Cream sugar and shortening together in mixing bowl. Add eggs and beat well.  Mix dry ingredients together and add them alternately with water.  Add pumpkin.  Bake in 2 greased loaf pans for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
