This is a variation on Chex Mix. I have given this as Christmas gifts in fun containers. This is a fun gift for children to help mix up and give. I usually triple and quadruple the recipe when I make it. This is a snack that is good anytime of year.
Go Fish Munch Mix
1/2 cup pretzel goldfish crackers
1/2 cup Chex cereal (corn works best but your preference)
1/3 cup sesame sticks (pretzel sticks will work in a pinch)
1/2 cup cheese goldfish crackers
1/2 peanuts or salted nuts of your choice
Layer the ingredients into a pint jar in the order listed. Put a pretty lid on top. Or just put in a pint container of your choice. Directions to put on container:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Empty the contents of the jar into a medium bowl, stirring to combine. In a saucepan pan melt 1 Tablespoon butter, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and 3/4 teaspoon Barbecue seasoning. Stir to coat. Spread in a single layer on a 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 250 for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove pan from oven. Spread mixture in a single layer on paper towel to cool. Makes about 2 1/2 cups snack mix.
